Who We Are Looking to Back
We are seeking ventures with strong leadership and potential but need support to put the right systems in place. These are organisations with ambition and traction, yet whose growth is held back by gaps in governance, planning, or financial resilience.
Ideal organisations are:
- Driven by committed leaders who are eager to strengthen their organisations beyond day-to-day delivery.
- Open to challenge and accountability, ready to embrace new systems and ways of working.
- At a tipping point for growth, with programmes or services in demand but without the infrastructure to scale sustainably.
- Rooted in faith and community, ensuring that values remain central as they expand their reach and impact.
Systems Phase is a 6-12 month strategic development programme designed for ambitious social venture leaders. It provides up to 80 hours of specialist consultancy and core funding to stabilise your internal setups and prepare your venture for sustainable growth.
To qualify for Systems Phase, organisations must meet the following baseline requirements: an annual income exceeding £100,000, a minimum of three years of operational history, be registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), Community Interest Company (CIC), or Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) and have clear data demonstrating existing reach and impact.
Organisations should have faith-centred values embedded in vision, mission, leadership, and service delivery and strategic alignment with at least one of our thematic priorities (socioeconomic and spiritual wellbeing of the community, and increasing public understanding of Islam).
We estimate the commitment to be 0.5 to 1 day per week for 6–12 months. FIG provides a monthly stipend of up to £300 to support staff time and participation.
There is no fee to participate. Systems Phase is entirely funded through FIG’s investment network, and selected ventures receive a monthly stipend of up to £300 for their time and participation.
Systems Phase uses a hybrid framework, combining virtual and in-person sessions. This method provides the flexibility required for busy leaders while creating physical space for deep, peer-to-peer collaboration.
Graduates join our alumni network for ongoing peer support and some will move into the Portfolio Phase for long-term investment.
Systems Phase itself does not provide direct grants. However, completing it opens the door to FIG’s Portfolio phase, where financial investment and deeper strategic support may be available.
