Purpose
FIG invites research proposals to identify and analyse the priority sectors and organisations through which Funders In Good can most effectively contribute to realising its vision of a society in which commitment to God flourishes in the UK.
This research is not intended to map the full landscape of faith-based or charitable activity in the UK. The purpose of this exercise is to identify specific areas where FIG’s collective investment can be most catalytic over the next five years by identifying sectors where faith-rooted investment has disproportionate influence on belief, moral responsibility, and long-term societal flourishing.
The findings will inform FIG’s 2027–2032 funding strategy, guiding up to an expected minimum £2 million a year in collective social investment.
Background
Funders In Good (FIG) is a UK network of Muslim donors and philanthropists united by a shared vision: a society where commitment to God is flourishing, and a collective desire for strategic change.
The UK is experiencing widening inequality, growing community polarisation, declining trust in political leaders, worsening mental health challenges, and environmental pressures. These conditions also create space for renewal through faith-inspired moral leadership, creativity, and generosity.
FIG seeks to play a role in nurturing both spiritual and material well-being and contributing to the common good.
